GREPPINO IGT ROSSO TOSCANA
Denomination: I.G.T. Rosso Toscana “Il Greppino” – Red young dry
Variety: 90% Sangiovese, 10% a blend of Colorino and Canaiolo Nero
Provenance: I Casali, Presine
The vineyards are located in a round hill area, 300 m sea-level with clay soil rich in potassium, yellow sands (tufa), shells and coral fossils. Plant system is mixed between guyot and spur cord with 3500-5000 vines per hectare. In the early summer a green harvest is made.
Harvest: manual harvest starting in late September.
Wine-making: Ferentation with maceration process carried out in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 25/27°C for 15 days. Malolactic carried at the end of the process.
Ageing period: After its fermentation period Il Greppino evolves in steel tanks for a minimum period of six months and few months in the bottle.
Tasting notes: Purple and brilliant red color. Deep red fruits aroma mixed with herbal notes. Smooth tannins with a red berry fruits taste. Well balanced with a good acidity, fresh and easy drinking.
Serving temperature: 18°C
IGT Greppino mach well with a lot of kind of food. Perfect with pasta, white and red meat, different kind of salami and fish with tomato sauce.
