Pietrantonj family produces the classic wines of Abruzzo since 1791, in the area of Vittorito, a small medieval village in the mountainous heart of the region, located between the Maiella massif (2650 m.a.s.l. ) and Sirente massif (2350 m.a.s.l. ). The climate here is continental, with very cold winters and hot summers; but due to the altitude and the orographic situation, the temperature's fluctuations between day and night during the ripening period (after veraison) are impressive, giving the wines great aromatics. Moreover the calcareous chalky soils contributes to the freshness and saltiness. Pietrantonj crafts 3 different lines: Vicenne, Arboreo and Cerano in 3 different price range. Each line include the classic wines of the region: Trebbiano d'Abruzzo Doc, Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo Doc ( a sort of deeper rosé, made from Montepulciano grapes ) and the Montepulciano D'Abruzzo Doc. Pietrantonj wines are true to the style and represent the pure, traditional expression of the local grapes from the internal area of Abruzzo.
