As per the state-controlled production rules "Albana" is exclusively gained from Albana grapes; ours grow on the medium mixture soil of the hills around Bertinoro, facing south-west.
The vineyard has been producing grapes for many years and gives a reduced yield but grapes quality is outstanding; the bunch has meagre, with medium-large berries.
Ripening is carefully checked to reach the peak balance between sugar content and acidity. Harvesting is done by hand and generally takes place after the first decade of September.
Vinification looks back to tradition but is carried on in a modern way, following up-to-date techniques such as refrigeration and must protection from oxidation; we are thus able to get and preserve the primary aromas of this wine which are extremely delicate.
The wine rests in small stainless steel tanks till the following spring and then is bottled.
The "Albana" DOCG is a top quality wine, intense straw-yellow coloured; the olfactory sensation is pleasant and clean with ripen fruit accents and persistent scents of acacia. The gustative perception is warm and firm with pleasant tannins that show the strong personality of this wine.
Serve at 12-14° C in medium size goblets with starters or traditional first courses like passatelli or cappelletti in brodo, white meat, fish or cheese of medium maturing.
