Brunello di Montalcino
Brunello di Montalcino 2007, five star harvest, great vintage.
“Little women grow up” this could be the title for a story regarding the Brunello 2007 at Casato Prime Donne. The Ardita vineyard is now adult, and the team of grape growers and cellar girls has gained the knowledge of the "terroir" and the climate which permits them to know the necessities of the vines and how to obtain an excellent product from the grapes.
In the cellar the arrival of the consultant wine maker Valérie Lavigne, teacher at the Bordeaux University and consultant together with Denis Dubordieu and Christophe Olivier in some of the most wineries in the world, has brought back some Tuscan typicity. Large barrels, research into the varietal characteristics of the wine, more vineyards and less cellar, more elegance and less power in the wine.
In other words the Casato Prime Donne Brunello 2007 has a very classical character and at the same time is in line with the trend of the moment that wants wines to be very refined, harmonious, without aggressive tannins, and that are not very woody, but most of all that have the character of their place of origin
After the excellent results from critics and in sales of the Brunello 2006, which abroad has obtain results never reached before, the 2007 aims at beating these performances and to clime the heights of the world leagues.
