World Wine Centre, the new B2B network platform dedicated to wine, distilled spirit, beer, extra virgin olive oil, equipment and accessories market sectors, was launched during Vinitaly 2012, in Verona, Italy.

World Wine Centre has been conceived by industry professionals for industry professionals to promote communication and interaction, from production to distribution world wide, thus helping the development of relationship and increasing the business opportunities.

The mission of World Wine Centre is to facilitate collaboration and communication between world  producers and distribution channels, including among others professional buyers, importers, wholesalers, distributors, merchants, and resellers, providing an online platform where offer and demand can interact in real time.

World Wine Centre goal is to contribute to working more effectively and efficiently on a daily basis, catching the business opportunities generated by networking with industry professionals and creating new relationships in the trade.

According to a recent OIV (Organization Internationale de la Vigne et du Vin, or International Organization of Vine and Wine in French) research, in 2011 the world market moved 103.5 Miohl (million of hectoliters), or 2,734.18 million of gallons, marking a 7.9% increase over 2010. This confirms the recovery started the previous year, with a provisional distribution of 95.9 Miohl (or 2,533.41 million of gallons) in 2010, against the 87,5 Miohl (or 2,311.5 million of gallons) in 2009, scoring a 9.6% increase.

From the data available, it is immediately evident that all exporting countries benefit at different levels from this trend, with the exception of Chile and Australia only, whose market shrank 10% in 2010.

In particular, for the second year in a row the global market share for the top five exporting states from the EU, Italy, Spain, France, Germany and Portugal, has grown from 62% in 2010, to 65.5% in 2011. This growth chipped away the market share of the producing countries south of the equator, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Chile and Argentina, plus the United States combined, whose global share dropped to 25.2% from 28.2% in 2010.

The amount of international market transactions increases faster than the recovery of consumption world wide, so much so that, as of today, over four every 10 bottles of wine sold around the world have crossed at least one border before being opened.

In economically challenging times such as the ones we are living now, finding new market share becomes a primary need. Because of this it is vital to establish relationships with a wide network of industry professionals, within a community able to grant satisfying commercial negotiations.

OnThe World Wine Centre web site offers relevant, up-to-date information about the producers, wine professionals, as well as service and product providers participating in the network.

In addition to a virtual online meeting place, via the “marketplace” and B2B meeting organized, World Wine Centre provides also real life meeting opportunities. In fact, in addition to the web service, the group offers added services and support, including translation, preparation of contracts, organization of promotional and tasting events, workshops, and incoming tours for international buyer, among other.

In addition, World Wine Centre is an information hub for trends, new products, and business opportunities. Offering a one-stop place where the network members can find all they need about the world of wine.
